Born in 1969, I took up photography as a teenager and learned the basics of the traditional black and white darkroom.
From 1991 I was supplying stock pictures to European publishers.
Moving to Scotland in 2002, I pursued a distinctive style in which the feel of classical photography is achieved through cutting edge digital techniques.
In 2005 I trained as a framer and set up my own workshop. This finally allowed me to control every stage of art-making from image capture to the picture on the wall, and hence to offer handcrafted pieces of the highest quality.
I currently live in Aberdeen with my wife and daughter. I hold a PhD from Aberdeen University and work for Durham University.
